Louisiana Council of the Emergency Nurses Association
Government Affairs

***CONGRATULATIONS***

THE 2008 ENA GOVERNMENT AFFAIRS AWARD WAS PRESENTED TO THE LOUISIANA STATE COUNCIL IN MINNEAPOLIS, MINNESOTA - SEPTEMBER 25, 2008.   CONGRATULATIONS ON THE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF YOUR EFFORTS - IT IS WELL DESERVED.

Legislation impacts your practice daily.  Make sure that your voice is heard by joining the Government Affairs/Nurse Practice Committee.  If you are interested in participating in Government Affairs with the Emergency Nurses Association there are several options.  You can enroll in the EN411 program by going directly to WWW.ENA.ORG and registering.  You can sign up for email alerts and correspond with legislators at local, state and national levels.  You can register to vote and encourage others to join you as you go to the polls -- voting for those candidates that are nurse advocates.  Maybe serving as a resource specialist to the legislators interests you.  As you can see there are many ways to take part.  If you are interested in becoming an advocate for Emergency Nursing at any level, join the Government Affairs Committee by contacting Deb Spann at deb.spann@gmail.com.
